Her twill October sweater
As real as the tumbling leaves
Nurtured the warm path of covered buttons
Leading down to the well of autumn’s glow
But now autumn’s buttons are replaced
By summer’s warm, sendal embrace
Lit by this manicured moon’s smiling face
Summer calls her to dance, longing for her to come
Image credit: Very basic twill weave (technically a 2/2 twill). This is probably the second most simple weave after plain weave. Note the distinctive diagonal lines. Photo and weaving by Aranel (29 September 2004).

Challenging backpacking trips, zazen, contemplating the lens through which I view the world, and a love of discovering new things drive my appreciation for this place we live.
