eye to the i

mathematical concepts are not some fashion
how could counting & equality ever lead to subtraction?
but take e to the i in chase of self-seeking pi?
that’s negative reality & a scorched earth sky

e to the i, e to the i
extending me to the eye
e to the i, e to the i
expounding me to the i

see eye to eye, i to i
hold my eye to i, take me to the i
to see the real sky with positive love & compassion
let i be imagine

and me
let me represent the base of the natural
and we
let we represent the base of the admirable

Notes: this poem references Euler’s identity, where e is the base of natural logarithms. Euler’s identity shows that e raised to the power (i times pi) is the real number negative one, with no imaginary contribution.
