Wholesome bread

In the early, quiet morning light
I prepared a wish from previous night
She woke to smells of wholesome bread
And we both were joyful for days ahead

Post Script

This is a small poem about love becoming material. A wish carried from the previous night is not merely spoken or explained; it is prepared, baked, and allowed to fill the morning air.

The bread is wholesome not only because it provides nourishment, but because the entire act possesses a kind of wholeness. Intention, work, warmth, scent, waking, and shared happiness belong to one continuous event. What begins inwardly as a wish becomes something another person can smell, taste, and receive.

The final line looks toward “days ahead,” but its hope remains grounded in the immediate and ordinary. The future is not secured through a grand promise. For one quiet morning, it is made tangible through care.
