sometimes I don’t know
the right words to share with friends

I wrote this as a haiku, a small form for a feeling that did not need to be made larger. Sometimes affection is easiest to recognize when words begin to fail.
There can be embarrassment or uncertainty in not knowing what to say, especially with people who matter to us. Yet friendship does not always depend on perfect expression. A pause, an imperfect message, or the effort to reach toward someone may carry more than the words themselves.
