transparent, fragile
iridescent dragonfly
ascending, blue sky
leaping forward with each step
falling freely through the ground
Post Script
This poem is written in the Japanese waka tradition, following a 5-7-5-7-7 syllabic structure.
A dragonfly can teach us much about lightness, agility, and wisdom. Yet wisdom itself can become another place to stand.
The sky offers no resting place. Neither does the ground.
With each step, there is an opportunity to discover that what appears solid may be more permeable than first imagined.
